This team also manages international purchases (SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, PLACE BEYOND THE PINES and RUSH in 2013) in one or more regions, and remake rights on more than 500 titles in its catalogue (supervising remake production and financing).

international sales

The International Sales department handles All Rights sales for new feature productions. Under the direction of Harold van Lier, the International Sales team is comprised of 3 Sales Executives who amongst them share key accounts covering the World. The department brings to the international marketplace approximately 15 films per year for which STUDIOCANAL holds international rights and in most cases acts as direct distributor in France, UK, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.

The sales team is present at all major professional Film Markets and events: EFM, AFM, MIP TV, Cannes, MIP COM, Toronto and all other major international Film Festivals.

The International Sales department also handles the rights of the STUDIOCANAL catalogue on all media (TV, digital, video), directly or via framework agreements with multi-territory platforms (Apple, Microsoft, Sony) or international distributors (Universal TV, UPIE, Lions Gate).

international marketing

This department supervises international marketing operations for STUDIOCANAL feature-length films distributed in cinema theatres by STUDIOCANAL in its territories (France, the UK, Germany, Australia and New Zealand) and for the films on which the studio manages international sales.
This team is a key link in the chain. It interconnects communication strategies, organises talent promotional tours and junkets, and provides distributors worldwide with everything they need to run successful film releases on international markets.
This team supports films every step of the way, from production to cinema screens, pooling its skills and expertise with distributors from over 100 countries.

musical edition

The Music Edition department has a patrimonial, financial and artistic role, since it aims at developing and managing the music rights of the CANAL+ Group’s catalogue both in France and abroad. Its scope of action is large, as STUDIOCANAL edits the sound identity of the Group’s channels, the original soundtracks of the feature films it produces and also the CANAL+ series. On a regular basis, the teams are led into investing in the creation and following the recordings, as well as negotiating with producers and composers. The teams oversee the rights throughout all territories where the films are distributed, as well as the operating of the music worldwide (sound recording, advertising synchronisations and films, video games, mobile phones, etc.)
